Big changes happened, moved everything to Mo.; but the Ranch continues on, and so does True Knight Tervurens! In the new location, select dogs belonging to family & friends participate in the group program with a shared goal: "to preserve and promote the Old Style Belgian Tervuren". We love to bring these lovely, Old Style dogs to the public's attention, and we delight in every glowing report from "pup parents" all across the country (or ocean)!

~We are dedicated to the preservation and continuation of this great breed, as it has been known since it was first standardized in 1932. We fully believe that the classic, triangular head and defined brow are integral to the health and intelligence of our dogs, and we cherish the beauty of their Old Style heads. We know many others agree, and hope that these genetics will be passed on and preserved regardless of current "bench show fashion" of skinny skulls and browless profiles. Our Tervs make great family dogs & terrific companions for any stage in life.

Coming at it from a farm & family dog perspective, I really love the bold, calm temperments: the kind that will be fine with a baby holding on to their fur to help take it's first steps; being unexpectedly fallen upon, etc.  We also have more active personalities in each litter, destined to excell in competition. Just whichever end of the spectrum a person is looking for! Being a true-blue buddy is what they live for, and do best of all.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions, & we are always happy to try and find the right match!

There are a good many videos of our horses online, take a look and enjoy!

We recommend dog food formulated by holistic vet Dr. Jane Bicks, shipped fresh to your door.

"Goldie passed her Therapy Dog International test today. We are so proud of her!
Thanks for the training head start you provided for her prior to us being blessed with her.
Jet has completed advanced obedience and Introduction to Rally.
[...] If only we could have more Tervs, we are head over heels in Love with our two babies!
God bless all of you at Double K!
Thanks !"

"Flash" was nearly everything a dog should be, and certainly that a farm dog should be. He was alert and active, sensitive and oh-so-willing to do whatever it is you want. He's super-smart... almost scary-smart! It's almost as if he has got a human brain working in that gorgeous head of his... but without any bad aspects! He is as honest as the day is long, and as sweet tempered and loving as your favorite kitten. He has good herding instincts and loves to help out putting animals where they should be.

Convinced this was a breed worth breeding, we set about finding a suitable female. "Fiona" joined us the spring of 2012, and has shown an even more studious personality than Flash. Quieter than he, she has higher toy drives. (She laid immediate claim to Roy, and declared herself "his dog" ever since!)

~

We had the opportunity to breed a lovely, old style female in her later years, (Misty, ref. page) and were able to keep her genetics going by getting a few daughters into the world. (TK Lunar Eclipse, Abi-sis's dog, and TK River Song.) I originally wanted to have her second daughter for my personal dog, but Mom piped up and said she wanted "River Song" for hers. "River comes gardening with me" she argued.

Since Mom hasn't had a personal dog since her kids came along, it really was only right she get to lay claim. (You don't argue with your 60 year old mom about this kind of thing!)

"River" is a very leggy, elegent girl with a lot of natural presence in her stance, when she pauses to look at something her poses are beautiful. She is an alert, dedicated huntress, catching mice near the fence lines and even rabbits sometimes! Softer in temperament than Flash, she pairs well with Flash, and her pups are generally less driven than some of out of other moms, and have gone to be therapy dogs, family companions, and watchful guardians of anyone who needs it.

Our pups have gone all over the country, spreading joy where ever they land! (Check out Past Pups)

{Luna doughter}"...She is truly becoming Echo the Wonder Dog just like her grandpa Flash. Echo's special magic continues to be finding people who need her anywhere we go. I don't know how she does it. [...] She is pure magic, and possibly part unicorn!"

Kate R. in Utah; professional psychologist and former "cat person" along with her husband. Her True Knight dog for therapy work has converted them both to "Terv lovers" now! {As evidenced by update on their 2nd True Knight pup, below.}

{River son}"...[Jake got] Bravo the Hakuna Matata collar, because it perfectly sums up his personality. His new favorite past time is bouncing around the back yard chasing butterflies [...] It is basically the cutest thing ever!"
